A long weekend of surfing, open-water swimming, trail running and beach fitness – as featured on The Telegraph’s website. Very different from our TriCamps but the same approach to excellent coaching. Perfect for both fitness enthusiasts or triathletes looking for something different in the off-season.
The core of the weekend are the surfing lessons on Saturday and Sunday. No prior surfing experience is necessary and experienced coach Mark Capps of Discovery Surf School will ensure that everyone progresses as quickly as possible.
The schedule for the weekend is flexible as we need to work around tides and weather conditions but will also include an Open Water swim session with a dedicated coach, trail running and beach fitness sessions with the local Life Guard Coach.
Optional additional sessions include advanced surf-coaching for experienced surfers and water entry / exit sessions for triathletes looking at ocean-based races
Arrival is on Friday night with an optional fitness session to stretch your legs. The core of the weekend are the Surfing Lessons at nearby Bigbury with Discovery Surf School. Throughout the rest of the weekend there will also be Open Water Swimming, trail running and beach fitness sessions.
All surfing equipment and surfing wetsuits are provided. We also have a fleet of BlueSeventy suits for the Open Water Swim session although we recommend you bring your own suits if you have them.
The White House is a 6 bedroom boutique hotel and we've booked the entire hotel for the weekend.
Over the course of the camp you can expect to cover:
Mark Capps was a successful competitor and free-surfer and has traveled and surfed extensively. He balances his job as a secondary teacher with daily surfs, coaching sessions and regular surfing trips abroad. He has coached multiple juniors to national titles including his own son, who has represented his country and is the current English U16 Surfing Champion.
The White House is a boutique Bed & Breakfast hotel in Chillington, a 10-15 minute drive from the surfing. The 6 house rooms have been designed and fitted to provide luxury and comfort.
A full breakfast is served early and whilst you’ll be out and about most of the weekend, each room has a luxurious bathroom, wall mounted plasma screen tv’s, sky hd, dvd players, ipod docks, nespresso machines, wireless internet access and in room mini bar with complimentary water and organic milk.
